Translations and Paraphrases

The Visualized Text
John 1:14-18

And the Word became flesh, and
dwelt among us, and
we beheld His glory,
                   glory as of the only begotten
                          from the Father,
full of grace and truth.

{15}        John bore witness of Him,
                                and cried out,
                                saying "This was He of whom I said,
                                                `He who comes after me has a higher rank than I,
                                                                for He existed before me.'"
{16} For of His fullness we have all received, and

grace upon grace.

{17} For the law was given through Moses;
grace and truth were realized though Jesus Christ.

{18} No man has seen God at any time;
the only begotten God,
who is in the bosom of the Father,
He has explained Him.

John the Baptist testifies as to who he is not, and who he is, and points to Jesus as The Christ. John 1:14-28

KJV
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. {15} John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. {16} And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. {17} For the law was given by Moses, <but> grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. {18} No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared <him>.
